Welcome to Plensory Movement

If you have found us, then you must be someone looking for a different approach to your health and wellbeing. This is the place to be if you want to move your body in ways that are safe, pleasurable, and ignite joyful sensation throughout.Stephanie-joyful-dancing

“Plensory” is the blending of two words: pleasure and sensory. Plensory Movement is about moving in ways that include both pleasurable and sensory actions. It is about getting the healthy body you want, moving in ways that are safe, pleasurable, and invoke body sensations. This type of movement is more about understanding your body and the way you move it towards holistic health and wellbeing, rather than simply going through the motions to tick the boxes on your fitness checklist.

There are a number of pleasurable and sensory-based modalities available to us, each modality speaking to our individual body sensations in a variety of ways. What may feel pleasurable to one body may not feel the same to another. A modality that invokes sensations today may not provide the same sensations tomorrow.

By connecting to body awareness and getting in touch with our body sensations, we learn to gravitate towards movement that feels good – not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well.

Over the years, Stephanie has personally achieved Plensory Movement through a few modalities:
Nia, a dance-based fitness programme that energises nine different movement forms, has taught and encourages me to move my ‘Body’s Way.’
Centergy, a fusion of yoga and Pilates where we move in time to uplifting music, focuses on full-body strength, joint mobility, and flexibility.
Yoga, encompassing asana, pranayama, relaxation, and meditation, leaves her feeling stronger, centred, balanced, and focused.

A beautiful dance between form and freedom – our bodies and minds are happy and healthy, and we feel stronger every day.

At Plensory Movement, you will learn about Nia dance classes, Group Centergy classes, or yoga lessons provided by Stephanie DeMay and her team of instructors in Christchurch, New Zealand. Have a peek inside and get in touch … we’d love to hear from you.
Come along to find your Plensory Movement.
